The Tempest: The long wait begins……g

I guess its only a wait for you, for me its a lot of work, maybe around 2000 hours. But anyways…..So, for a few weeks now I’ve been back to work….goin’ HAM.  All the excitement finally settling down. Spent some of the w.a.m., bought a shelf…nice; a new computer…for my new digital tablet!(my big purchase); and some frames, art supplies and other boring things like plane tickets home and stuff. I may also look into buying a video camera that does time lapse, cause I know how badly everyone wants to see me paint….not. But it will be sweet to show how long things take. and the detail work that goes into my paintings.

I was looking back over some of the entries for the foot locker comp, and I just wanted to note a few people that stood out to me as not only awesome people, but awesome artists. Also, these people made an effort to come and “bidness” it up with me, which, as far as i’m concerned, that’s half the battle. So, definitely some artists to look out for in the future: Jenna Vincent, Elliot Stansfield, Alex Tomkins, and Sarah Jane and her brother (who may or may not open a designer cake store……)

Finally, i just want to give a shout out to my people from Head of the Herd. They made the top three in a massive competition over in BC and performed in Canada’s best venue…. in front of about 1000 people and killed it. ON TOP OF THAT they  may have gotten hooked up to do an album with a pretty major producer and could be touring next summer….so…..check em out, download the free album and…. HOLLA!!!!!!

Now time for pictures…. (Oh, and the the tempest pictures are from the first part of the first act. Like 1/36th of the full piece.)

Winner of the Foot Locker Art Prize!

A few months ago I entered this massive art contest hosted by foot locker. Worked my butt off on completing my entry in time; framing it; and getting it down to Sydney. But needless to say all my work paid off! You can read more about it in a few of these articles. Also, now my painting is up in every foot locker across Australia and New Zealand. Very cool. Enjoy the pics! And check the news section for a detail shot of the winning entry!
